Jaa means rainbow in Bhutanese language - as our weaver Karma literally plucked colours off the rainbow to weave this scarf. Karma shared that as a child, she loves rainbows as it is a sign of hope. Karma dreams of opening a shop to sell colourful weavings.
Jaa Scarf is one of the first few designs Karma came up with, which defied the traditional Bhutanese patterns of symmetrical weavings. This is the scarf for the adventurous, the unconventional - the one who strides out in confidence with your own style.
Each scarf takes at least a few days to hand weave, starting from yarn spinning to tassel rolling. By purchasing one, you are also helping to empower Bhutanese artisan women to use their creative talents to become financially independent.
