Inspired by the vibrant festivals of Bhutan called Tsechhu, the Himalayan Swirl scarf reminds us of the colourful skirt won by the Tsechhu temple dancers. The skirt purportedly weighing over 10 kgs with its layers and layers of coloured fabric, it is no wonder that all the dancers are men - to be able to twirl and swirl for hours in that heavy skirt.
Each scarf takes at least a few days to hand weave, starting from yarn spinning to tassel rolling. By purchasing one, you are also helping to empower Bhutanese artisan women to use their creative talents to become financially independent.
